These are a two of the models I saw that caught my attention more than once.

This is a “flat figure” that is apparently about as thick as cardboard and is made from an embossed design, then painted. I’d never seen something like this and this one was quite vibrant.

This diorama is based on a photo from the USS Cole attack that holed the ship’s hull. She was raised onto a special transport ship and brought back to the US for repairs. This was a big event during my career and seeing it in 3 dimensions reminded me of all the emotions of that time.
