Modellers Without Borders Boardmember Rob Booth awarded this WOW factor award to the really tremendous model of the “Scavenger” walker. Read Rob’s comment below;

Modellers Without Borders was in attendance at the Rocky Mountain Hobby Expo held June 20-21, 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah in the beautiful American Northwest. We chipped several things that caught our attention (see other news item). I happened to be walking by when Mike Zoetmulder from Sandy, Utah finished setting up his fantastic “Scavenger” walker. I literally exclaimed WOW! This is an awesome display of modeling talent, creativity and skills. Mike was awarded with our third WOW! Factor award for this stunning piece. We apparently had the same opinion of this piece as the RHME judges, as it was also awarded a Gold medal, Best Sci-Fi, several peer award chips and the People’s Choice award.

This was only the second edition of this hugely popular independent show, and they more than doubled their attendance and entry count over last year. Featuring an entrant display format and G-S-B evaluations, this event is all about the people, and personal engagement around the hobby. The stellar RMHE team, which includes the Plastic Posse Podcast’s Scott Gentry and his family, and Small Subjects Podcast’s Barry Biedeger and wife Joan, and Josh Buck, along with a cast of model-loving others has put together a true celebration of this hobby we all love. Great models, outstanding seminars and great people in a great place … what’s not to love? Put this late June show on your calendar for next year.
