For our Small Air Forces freaks, French specialised decal creator Syhart Decals surprises us with a new Belgian Air Force livery, his first since the iconic Tigermeet F-104G Starfighter passed into the limelight!![]() |
Many may think, did Belgium decorate her “missile with a man in it’, flown by the venerable ‘silver spurs’ beyond the 1978 version? Sylvain Gauthier, inspired by the book released earlier this year, confirms they did. In particular, this static display of the iconic FX-94, that was present on several public events between 2001 and 2002, before she returned to a rather familiar looking alumium scheme that we can still see today in Peer, on the roundabout leading to the airbase of Kleine Brogel (KeeBee), stoicly serving as gate guard.

The restauration of her blue livery seen here, was done by the 21e Logistieke Wing, who also later stocked and repainte her to the current standard. It would have been an even more stunning sight had they preserved her as this blue bird nonetheless! And now, you may, with this complete set, available in 1/72 and 1/48!
Best used with the Revell/Italeri versions.
But that is not all: the iconic FX-52 also returns, with the 1/72 range re-issued, and supplemented with the 1/48 version… and for the first time, in 1/32!
