Description: This Moderoid ED-209 was built and painted to reflect the full-size shooting model of this character, and not the bluer tone reflected from the film stock in the movie. The pose should invoke the moment you hear this robot growl right before the end of Mr Kinney. This kit only has some modifications to some finer details, utilizing .15mm wire and thread to create the spindle on the gun pod. 3mm threaded wires at the elbows to create some distinction and visual interest that kit parts did not provide. Most paints are Archive X, while the grey Dome is Mr Color UNT MS Grey, because of its subtle metallic flake the most distinct. Metallic are Mr Color Titanium 2. Weathering is meant to show something not fresh off the line, but a droid that has been lying in wait for some time. With some grime and streaks that would be in line with being unattended outside, achieved with multiple oil and pin washes. Most bolts have pencil and AK metallic marker accents to denote some level of service, as they had not cared if it worked or not. Gun pods show weathering to show some testing use, but nothing extreme. The goal was grimy but free from rust. The “mouth” was left as blank as possible. The glossiest finish are the red missiles, a nice pop of color. this is contrasted by the green greeble just above the missiles, with a gold connector just evident to the naked eye.
