Description: This model was inspired by a HS friend, whose Dad was a “Bear” in the F-105G in Vietnam. His name is on the canopy rail (Capt. A. Zellers). It was built to look extremely weathered. The kit was enhanced with aftermarket: cockpit tub, pitot tube, wheels, wheel wells, FOD covers, gun bay cover & gun, and landing gear. All ordinance is attached to the model with either metal pins or magnets (to be removable for transport). The paint is from an AMMO SEA Camo set, using an airbrush for application. Weathering/chipping was done with a combination of dry brushing, sponge, and weathering pencils. Several vents (above the gun and in the vertical stab) are scratch built (fast food straws cut to size!). The arming wires on the bombs were added once the bombs were painted.
