Description: I wanted to build/paint something that was a tribute to the the setting that got me into the modeling hobby Warhammer 40K and my current hobby focus of Gunpla which I picked up in 2020 after a long absence from model building. I started painting again in 2021. I was a Blood Angels player in the 90s and their aesthetic definitely matches the Sinanju – with some minor alterations. The base model for the kit is the HGUC 1/144 Sinanju with a head swap from the Sinanju Stein missing the command antenna. The shield is taken from the HGWFM 1/144 Beguir-Pente with a Blood Angels insignia cast from a promotional pin in UV Resin. The hammer is constructed from the missile pods found in the HGBC 022 Ballden Arm Arms option parts set attached to frame built from square styrene tubing and detailed with cut styrene sheet. The halo is also built from layers of styrene sheet. The parchment details are sculpted from Tamiya quick type putty and the base is built from cork tile and air-dry clay. Paint is primarily water based acrylics from Citadel and Monument Pro-Acryl. the model is “lightly” weathered also primarily with water based acrylic but also oil washes and pigment powder.
