Description: This ROBOCOP kit was designed after the suit from the first movie. Inspired by the intricate paint job that Rob Bottin executed to bring ROBO to life, with set photos used as reference. The pose is inspired from ROBOCOP’s first patrol, as he says the line “Your move creep” during a foiled assault. My goal was to create accurate finishing. The actual suit was not highly polished so neither is the model. The visor on the helmet carries the highest reflectivity (which is more accentuated with single source lighting), to draw you into his eyeline. Skin tones are the most matte so you can appreciate the armor first. The paint process utilized a black base, and 2 stage violet/lilac zenithal highlight, designed to deliberately bring out the purple tones from SMS Galaxy Color shift that was applied over a very light coat Mr color Mr Titanium 2. Black armor is an Odekan Candy Black applied directly over the highlight. This is most evident in the chin guard, which maintains it’s distinct shape under all lighting conditions. Pencils and some edge highlights are utilized on the back, cod and ab armor, to maintain definition. Auto 9 has a drilled out barrel and is gloss black and gunmetal with pencil highlights. The model is largely unmodified. Seams on calves and feet are removed. Light washes are utilized in blue and dirt/brown/black to give the model more real world context. a very light Matte stipple is applied to the bottom edge of the feet where there is the most contact. Some sponge is used to fill out the kit’s wrists, and is unpainted, to maintain it’s posable nature
