I would like to join this competition but it is very confusing. I have tried to subscribe but get nothing back when I fill out the form.

      Hi Mike,
At this moment it is not yet possible to register for the VMX25! The subscribe options is just to subscribe to our Nesletter and that is what you did. Welcome.
We also hve no option open to log in/enroll as a member. That will come as soon as we have a significant part of our Academy ready.
In the coming week all information and registration form will come available concerning the VMX25. The team is really working hard.
      Sorry for the inconvience.

Just want to make sure that I got this. As stated in “Triage – Judges will select one model submitted by each entrant in each class for evaluation.”

Does this mean, if five models are entered for evaluation in five different categories, that all five will be evaluated? That’s what it sounded like to me.

    or

Does it mean that if five models are entered for evaluation, only one model will be evaluated regardless of which categories they’re entered in?

Or are you trying to say that, if three models are entered for evaluation in the same category, only one of those models will be evaluated?

Your site also mentions, “Builders can choose whether each model is evaluated, display-only, or both.” I totally don’t understand that. How can something which is “display-only” also be evaluated? Can one piece be “on display” and “evaluated” at the same time? Please help me figure that out.

Just checking, many many thanks for your help.
    Thanks
    Bruce

A question on modifying your photos.

“Under the contest rules for VMX 25 it’s important that you DO NOT alter your photos in any way.”

Some of my photos have captions on them, like , “Sidecar door was sculpted from epoxy putty”. I usually put the captions at the top of the photos so it doesn’t cover any of the model. The model in the photos are not modified. The captions help the viewer to note the added details.

    Is this OK?

    Thanks,
    Bruce

      Hi Bruce,
      To answer your questions:
Yes, only one model per class will be evaluated. Three models in the same class? One will be chosen by the judges. Three models in three different classes? each one will be evaluated.
Regarding “Builders can choose whether each model is evaluated, display-only, or both.” that’s a typo that was supposed to be fixed. Each model is either Display or Evaluation.
Regarding photos, ideally we’d like them exactly as taken by your camera, but a caption is OK, as long as you haven’t played around with photo settings (contrast, exposure, tint, etc.)
      Hope this helps.
